Featuring a sleek user interface, Gluten-Free is rich in functionality. The integrated Ingredients tab, which automatically updates, includes the gluten-free status of over 700 ingredients. Furthermore, this version supports personal flags for ingredients based on the user's specific sensitivities. This data is stored locally on the device and accessible from anywhere.
The standout feature of Gluten-Free is its scanning functionality. Collaborating with a company boasting a detailed food database of over 100,000 products, we developed our own algorithm that assesses hundreds of ingredients and assigns a simple color rating. Scan an item and receive a green, yellow, or red label within seconds, along with an explanation of the algorithm's decision-making process. Although some regional chains may not be included, nearly all national brands are covered.
Please note that this app's focus is on ingredients and does not delve into manufacturing processes or parts per million tolerance levels that are key factors in determining a product's color rating.
For those tired of the guesswork involved in dining out, Gluten-Free offers an Around Me feature to locate restaurants and stores labeled as gluten-free on Google Maps. While more effective in major cities, this feature has also unearthed new establishments in smaller towns.
If you reside outside a metropolitan area, fret not. Utilize the Specific Locations tab to instantly access the gluten-free menus of over 45 national chains. Once downloaded initially, these menus remain accessible on your device irrespective of your internet connection status.
Our integrated Facebook feature allows quick sharing of products via Facebook, enabling users to showcase their favorite items to friends. Gluten-Free also incorporates a rating system that synchronizes across all app users.
